Probably the most common question and the biggest concern we hear is with regard to copyright infringement, "What if someone steals my idea?" But at the same time, these same designers wouldn't hesitate to submit their work for publication in a design annual.

It doesn't matter where someone sees your work, if they're going to plagiarize it, there's not much you can do to stop them. As print designers ourselves, we like to think that, as a group, we have some integrity and are above all of that. You wouldn't hesitate to post your work on your own website. Posting your work here is no different. Plus we include your name and design firm in the credits.

What gets to be included?

To be included, a piece needs to have two qualifications. The first one is easy, the second one may upset some folks. The first one is, the piece needs to have been created for print purposes and needs to have been printed. That's easy. The second one is, it needs to be considered worthy of inspiring others by the sites' administrators. By "worthy of inspiring others", we mean it should be something exciting and new, it shouldn't be something we've seen a million times before, it should inspire a "wow" or at least an "mmm hmmm", it should be clever, compelling and meet it's intended goals.

Of course, we understand that not every data sheet for every company can be a ground breaking design experience. We've been designers for close to two decades so we understand limitations imposed on us by clients, bosses, and temperamental creative directors. We know how to look through all that and pick the work that will be the most useful and inspiring to our users. Trust us.

What if my piece isn't picked?

We're truly sorry if your piece isn't included. It could be that we had several similar pieces already and felt it would be best to round out our offerings. Whatever the reason, please don't take it personally, and please continue to submit new work!
